According to a study by Borrell Associates, the use of AI in advertising is rapidly growing. Borrell analyzes the impact of AI within various factors of advertising. When the group took a dive into the usage of AI, the difference between last year and this year was quite noticeable.

How often do YOU use AI? Is it on a daily basis? When you get stuck on a problem? Or are you someone who doesn’t fully trust artificial intelligence quite yet?

According to a study by Borrell Associates, the use of AI in advertising is rapidly growing. Borrell analyzes the impact of AI within various factors of advertising. When the group took a dive into the usage of AI, the difference between last year and this year was quite noticeable.

The small and mid-sized business (SMB) survey showed 46% of companies stated they did in fact used AI for small business tasks in 2024. That number jumped to 65% fessing up to the use of AI this year.

Originally, businesses took advantage of AI with sporadically. However, now, AI is essential in those businesses for analytics, reports, research, productivity tools…the use of AI has become much more mainstream in just a year’s time.

A staggering 71% confessed to the use of AI in content creation. Closely following this is the use of AI in internal productivity with 39%, 24% on social media management, and 22% on email marketing. Let’s not forget the ease of AI when it comes to translation, transcription, search engine optimization…

What aspect of AI are businesses using? The clear winner is ChatGPT at the number one AI tool being used. Copliot, Claude, and Adobe were also mentioned. Three fourths of businesses use ChatGPT on a regular basis.

Regardless of these numbers, there are those out there who still don’t trust artificial intelligence. The biggest concern is accuracy. 58% said they don’t trust AI and those businesses are worried AI could put out false info.

Even with the distrust in AI, the argument this is “just a phase” has clearly been disputed. Artificial intelligence continues to grow and so must the industry and sales. We’re passed denying AI will be around for a while. What we don’t embrace could impact our growth.
