Did you get your Spotify Wrapped review? As fun as it was to see what we listened to, personally, there is also a way to utilize this information to gain more knowledge about your listeners.
The Spotify Wrapped gave us quite a few insights. A few of them are:
- How many minutes you listened to music on Spotify.
- Which month was your biggest listening month of the year.
- How many songs you played.
- Which song was played the most and how many times you streamed it.
- What your top 5 listened to songs were.
- How your listening changed as far as what type of music you listened to and when. This included which artists you listened to within that genre.
- Which artist you listened to the most. (I spent 800 minutes on one artist. HOW?! Hahaa)
- What your top listened to artists were
I loved seeing this. I could remember exactly where my headspace was when I listened to “theatrical rock” at the beginning of the year, and into “Dark Romance” during the summer. Many listeners are sharing their results on social media, so ask them to share their results with you!
Create a post on Facebook or make a video on Tik Tok asking for their results in the comments. You can even use this to gather callers! Have the morning show share theirs on air (make sure what you’re sharing fits your demo.) If you have part timers, have them go through the comments and create a spreadsheet of what your listeners listened to the most.
You can use this to better understand your audience. This could create a better insight into who’s popular in your area. Sure, we can give you national and regional numbers, but there’s nothing better than asking the actual people in your area what you’d like to know.
I’m sure there are other “end of the year” polls. You can always make your own! Facebook has an excellent polling feature. Don’t sleep on Tik Tok either. You can use your Tik Tok video on Facebook. Of course, we aren’t sure what the future of Tik Tok is now that it looks as if there will be a ban on it in the next couple of months. This is why it’s important to import those videos onto your other social media platforms, but that’s a completely different topic to address. As for now, conduct your own research and continue to incorporate others such as Spotify’s Wrapped.
