Super Hi-Fi and Telos Have Partnered

Whether you are into it or not, Artificial Intelligence is here to stay, and it has infiltrated radio. Regardless of your opinion, it looks like we’re going to have to roll with the punches and get used to the fact it will be involved in some area of your broadcast. Initially, we had “AI Ashley,” which didn’t go over well. Then, we started seeing more AI in script writing and show prep. These areas, definitely, could use the help, and it has been pretty great! Following that, AI paired up with political ads to the point we now need disclosures within those ads. Most recently, two tech groups have partnered to create a new technology that could change the way we do remote broadcasting!

Telos Alliance has been around for 40 years. In those 40 years, they’ve brought us new hardware, software, and apps. Super Hi-Fi is a company that’s, in their words, “Been in our shoes and have been frustrated by the same things.” According to their website, they offer automated production, voice synthesis, advanced DSP, fully managed stations, and more. They’ve just introduced the first AI- powered system called Program Director.

Now you know a little back story on each company, here’s what they’ve come up with, together. LiveConnect is a new IP protocol which connects your average radio shows to a cloud-based system. Within this system, you can, SECURELY, broadcast on any station from any studio in any location using their technology. The Azia Quasar AolP mixing console and Axia Altus are virtual mixing consoles. You can either use it as a physical item in front of you, or on your laptop or tablet, thanks to it all being uploaded to a cloud. That’s where AI comes in…Super Hi-Fi uses their cloud-based tools to support a seamless broadcast.

I know, it gets a little confusing. If you’d like to learn more, click here or here. This seems to be just the tip of the iceberg with this new partnership. Each has been innovative in tech you can use with or without broadcasting. For those in radio or dabbling in podcasts, this could be a game changer. It’s always a worry the lines could be hacked when you’re onsite. According to LiveConnect, with these are secure lines you’ll never have to be concerned about losing signal or tampering with the lines. LiveConnect is in the beginning stages, however, I see how AI would be instrumental in implementing onsite broadcasting professionally, vs the old school ways of the Marti.
