Recipe For Success
People with high assurance in their capabilities approach difficult tasks as challenges to be mastered rather than threats to be avoided.
Confident people see obstacles as puzzles to solve. Insecure people see obstacles as reasons to quit. Same obstacle. Different lens. Your mindset determines your outcome. Choose to see challenges as opportunities. Choose to believe you can figure it out. That belief becomes reality.

What’s Making News
Trump Announces 50 Percent Tariff on Canadian Goods
President Trump signed orders on Monday to impose a 50 percent tariff on a wide range of Canadian exports, set to take effect in 30 days. Trump claimed Canada had discriminated against the United States in key industries, and the new tariffs will affect everything from wine and hockey sticks to cement, dairy, plywood, and furniture. The move is another significant step in the administration’s protectionist trade agenda and could have real impacts on both countries’ economies. Canadians can expect these tariffs to affect prices on familiar products in the coming weeks.

Topic of the Day
Topic 1
You’re on a first date. Is this a first-date dealbreaker? They turn up dressed in full medieval attire, claiming every day is a renaissance for them. What do you think? Is this historical enthusiasm or a misplaced time traveler?
Impossible Question
You probably don’t know anyone who has one of these now but back in the 1980’s 20% of Americans owned one a waterbed.
The Situation
I am not sure how to handle this situation. My neighbor called yesterday and said that while my kids were hanging out with her kid, they were swearing. And now her 8-year-old is using that language. My kids are 7 and 9. Her kid is 8. And I’ve never heard my kids use any foul language.
And now she’s accusing them of it. I asked them about it and they deny it. I told my neighbor, who said, “Of course they deny it. They don’t want to get in trouble. But they need to clean it up or they’re not going to be playing with my kids.” I don’t think they did it. I think her kid is lying.
How do I handle it? I don’t want to be that parent, but my kids wouldn’t do that and they surely wouldn’t lie to me. And they said they didn’t do it. I’m kind of mad about the whole thing.

Hendrix Ignites NYC’s Premier Live Music Venue
Jimi Hendrix
Jimi Hendrix Experience kicked off a three-night stand at the legendary Cafe-a-Go-Go in New York, a club that was basically the Avengers lineup of live music—we’re talking Grateful Dead, Joni Mitchell, Cream, Jefferson Airplane, all rotating through that same intimate space. It’s wild to think about the concentration of genius happening on one stage in one week. Those were the days when you could actually catch multiple generations of music under one roof without needing a festival pass or a bank loan.
