The Situation

I’ve been having problems finding a Daycare Center for my three-year-old son. They’re all fully booked and not accepting new kids, obscenely expensive, or many miles away and not practical. It’s becoming a really big problem.
So a friend told me about someone she knows that operates a Daycare out of her home. She made the connection and I visited.
She lives in a condo and when I visited, she had six kids running around her house. I asked her how many she could take on, and she said, “Oh, no problem. I can easily take in four or five more.”
I don’t know much about it, but I don’t see how this can be legal. I asked her if she’s licensed, and she said, “Oh, yes. Of course.” But is she? I looked for her online and there’s nothing about her Daycare business available.
It seems like it would be fine for my kid. I mean, I really liked her and all. But if she’s not licensed and something happens, that could be bad, right? My husband says to not worry about it and get our kid in. But I’m thinking I should report her or at least find out if she’s legal. But then I have nowhere for my son to go and will probably have to quit my job. What should I do?
