The Situation
My husband and I were invited to dinner at his boss’s house on Saturday night. We felt like we should go. I mean, it’s his boss. He warned me in advance that they are a little bit crazy, and not to be surprised at anything that happens.
He says they’re quirky but harmless. For dinner, they served spaghetti with meatballs. No problem. But then, the boss’s wife comes around the table to serve us. She comes around with a huge bowl of pasta and served me first by sticking her hand all the way into the bowl and hand-delivering spaghetti to the plate. I didn’t know what to do, but I almost threw up. I quickly said I don’t eat carbs, and asked for something else.
My husband was embarrassed and told me I should have just eaten it. What do you do?
