Longtime Klamath Falls radio personality, Rob Siems, has announced his retirement from Basin Mediactive after 32 years and 39 years in the radio industry.

The native of Minot, N.D., began his career at KLAD-FM in 1994 as the morning show host – a position he still holds today. Along with his “Wake Up Crew” duties, Siems originally was the radio group’s program director, moving to operations manager in 1999 and finally into the general manager role, in which he is celebrating his 20th year in the position in 2026.

Siems has been active in the Klamath Falls community, serving on various boards throughout the Basin, including the Salvation Army, YMCA, Chamber of Commerce, CASA, and the Klamath Lake Counties Food Bank. He served as Chairman of the Oregon Association of Broadcasters from 2019-2021, while coaching youth sports teams over the last 25 years.

During his career, Basin Mediactive was voted the Best Place to Work (15 employees or less) by the Klamath County Chamber of Commerce in 2018, while last year, Siems received the 2025 Broadcaster of the Year award from the Oregon Association of Broadcasters, with KLAD-FM voted the Station of the Year from the Oregon Association of Broadcasters.

“I have worked with so many great people over the years, and I’m proud that our stations have remained community-focused and made such a major impact in the Klamath Basin,” Siems said.  “I’ll miss doing a job I love and working with so many individuals in the community. I plan to stay involved in the community, play lots of golf and travel. Though I am retiring full time, I’ll still be involved on a part-time basis in the background as a consultant, so I will still get to be part of a business I love.”

Siems last day on the radio will be December 23, 2026.
