What You’ll Do:

• Anchor a daily podcast featuring journalists and newsmakers.
• Work collaboratively with BIN writers, reporters, anchors, and outside talent.
• Be involved with all aspects of news gathering and reporting, including audio production, script writing, editing of content, and staff development.
• Protect the iHeartMedia and Black Information Network brand.
• Mix episodes and segments, balancing music, voiceover, and archival tape to a clear consistent quality while ensuring final mixes adhere to broadcast publish specifications
• Manage and maintain files and data for the show, as well as support file-sharing systems
• Respond to listeners’ comments or complaints.                                                                             

What You’ll Need:

• Ability to generate original ideas, and creatively communicate them to our audiences.
• A strong knowledge of current events and history, with an emphasis on issues of interest to the target audience.
• Excellent writing and storytelling skills; ability to tailor and adapt content for different audiences and platforms.
• Full knowledge of the law, ethics and industry regulations related to news and radio production.
• Ability to build rapport and draw information from newsmakers.
• Confidence and tenacity when dealing with difficult decisions and/or issues.
• Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure, and to react quickly to changes.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills, complemented by diplomacy, empathy and patience.
• At least 3+ years working professionally in an audio production environment (Podcast, Post-Production, Music, Other).
• Expert time management skills; you calmly and effectively prioritize short-term and long-term projects.
• Adobe Audition or Pro Tools mastery – an in-depth understanding of the tools and techniques used with the latest versions of the software.
• Work Experience
• 5+ years of experience in journalism/news preferred.
• Education
• Four-year Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Media, Communications, or Journalism preferred.
