With an air of Billy Eilish, Tori Amos, and her own sort of melancholy voice, SOFIA ISELLA comes across many years older than her actual young age. Now, at the ripe age (heavy sarcasm) of 20 years old, it may feel to Sofia she has already lived a life of music due to being surrounded by it beginning early on.
At only three years old Isella started playing the violin, eventually becoming classically trained in the instrument. In one of her early interviews, Isella describes it as “Fighting with Suzuki teachers” since she was three. When she turned eight years old she wrote the first lyrics to a song. Sofia goes on to state growing up she’s had many instruments in her home and has written songs on all of them.
Isella’s first EP was made up of songs she wrote when she was 14 years old. After 2020 she started gaining popularity on Tik Tok. Have you seen a pattern with Tik Tok? Many artists today are finding their footing on the social media platform. After her notoriety started becoming pretty big, Isella performed at a few music festivals. Following the fests, Isella opened for Melanie Martinez and Tom Odell in 2023 and 2024. A couple months after Martinez’s tour, Isella got the opportunity of a lifetime and was support on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.
Her second EP came out in September of 2024, followed by a California tour and then embarking on her first world tour earlier this year.
While we haven’t heard a lot from Sofia Isella, she’s quickly making her mark in producing, writing, and performing. Still on tour stateside, Sofia has a few dates which are sold out.
