At first listen, you can hear notes of someone who’s lived a full life of heartbreak and love. Radiating from the voice of a woman who’s clearly had enough to write deep and soulful songs. You’d never guess this all came from a 19 year old.
At just five years old, Summer Brennan joined a performance group in San Francisco. This is where her real love of music developed.
After attending a couple songwriting camps when Brennan was 13, her “musical aspirations” began to include songwriting and producing. During the pandemic, she had ample time to hone in her new skills and began writing as much as she could. Learning Logic Pro, Brennan wrote and produced her first song, “Boy.” With this new gem in her pocket, she won the John Lennon weekly contest and was then in the Song Academy UK songwriting competition finals.
The outpouring of love for her original lit the fire beneath her to attend Orange County School of the Arts where Brennan was able to continue her passion for writing and producing. Through this, she gained the confidence to continue on her path as a solo artist; promoting herself through social media and her website, summerbrennanmusic.com.
According to her site, Brennan has garnered many accolades: seven awards, fourteen finalist placements, and three honorable selections.
