Experience:
1. Leadership and Management:
• Provide leadership and vision for the station’s strategic planning and development.
• Oversee daily operations, including programming, production, and administrative functions.
• Supervise, mentor, and support station staff and volunteers to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
2. Programming and Content Development:
• Develop and implement a programming strategy that aligns with the station’s mission and audience needs.
• Ensure a diverse range of high-quality programming, including music, and cultural content.
• Monitor and evaluate programming to maintain quality standards and compliance with FCC regulations.
3. Fundraising and Financial Management:
• Develop and manage the station’s budget, ensuring financial sustainability and accountability.
• Plan and execute fundraising strategies, including membership drives, grants, underwriting, and special events.
• Build relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners to secure financial support.
4. Community Engagement and Outreach:
• Serve as the primary representative of KLZK-FM in the community, fostering relationships with listeners, local organizations, and stakeholders.
• Develop and implement outreach initiatives to expand the station’s audience and impact.
• Organize and participate in public events, community forums, and listener engagement activities.
5. Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
• Ensure compliance with all applicable FCC regulations, copyright laws, and station policies.
• Maintain accurate records and reports for licensing, grant funding, and other regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting, Communications, Journalism, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for education.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in radio broadcasting, with at least 3 years in a management role.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Proven experience in programming, fundraising, and financial management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and community relations skills.
• Knowledge of FCC regulations and public radio standards.
• Passion for public radio and a commitment to serving the community.
