No Limits
You can’t put a limit on anything. The more you dream, the farther you get. Remove self-imposed limitations.
The only real limits in radio are the ones you put on yourself. ‘I can’t do that in this market.’ ‘My PD won’t let me.’ ‘Our audience wouldn’t get it.’ Bull. Every breakthrough show started with someone refusing to accept the conventional wisdom. I’m not saying be reckless—I’m saying be brave. What would your show sound like if you stopped playing it safe? Start there. You don’t have to execute the whole vision today, but you can take one step toward it.
Besides the coaching tip of the day my daily prep also includes headlines making the news that day, essential pop culture updates, a topic of the day and a situation to use as phone topics, an impossible question, ten trivia questions, three hot takes, celebrity birthdays, horoscopes, today in history and today in music history. All curated with care and powered by Radio Content Pro.

The Situation
I’m up for a job, and I want it. It’s perfect for me. But I also know there are a lot of applicants for it. So, I wanted my application to stand out and be noticed.
So I found a cake shop that made custom cakes and had them make one with my resume in the cake’s icing. Yes, it was an edible resume on top of a cake.
Then I took the cake to the HR director in person, around 2 p.m. when I knew everyone would return from lunch. I was told to leave it at the front desk, but I insisted on seeing the HR director.
I spent 3 minutes with her, and she was very nice. But I have no idea if it made a good or bad impression. Now it’s three weeks later, and I don’t know what to do next. How should I follow up? Take her coffee?
How do I see this through?

Eddie Cochran signs with Liberty Records
Eddie Cochran
Back in ’56, Eddie Cochran inked a one-year deal with Liberty Records, and that little contract ended up giving us some of the most timeless rockabilly tunes ever. ‘Summertime Blues,’ ‘Twenty Flight Rock,’ ‘C’mon Everybody’—all thanks to that paper. Imagine if he’d signed with someone else… we might be talking about ‘Summertime Slightly Uncomfortable’ instead.
